[NABS-L] VABS Conference Call 3/1/18

Good Morning Everyone

 

This is a friendly message to all students that the Virginia Association of
Blind Students will be having their monthly conference call on Thursday,
March 1, 2018 at 8pm. This month, we will have a guest speaker, Mary Derbin,
who is the chair of the McDonald Fellowship Award and liaison for the
Jernigan Award for Virginia. The McDonald Fellowship is a state award given
from the Virginia affiliate to individuals that wish to attend their first
National Convention. This awards totals at $750 and Mary will be on the call
to talk about what you need to do to apply and win. We will also discuss the
Jernigan Award, a national award to assist first time individuals and
families a chance to attend the convention. So, if you are interested in
attending your first convention and want to know what the state affiliate
and national office can do to help you get there, please get on the call.
