[NABS-L] Math query:

Hello,
I am taking a math class through Hadley Institute for the blind and visually impaired. The name of my math class is practical math one. I'm stuck on a concept in less than four. I can't understand how to work with partial products. Can anyone help? The way the textbook describes it is very confusing to me, but that's because I never learned this concept in high school.
