Hello Ian,

One thing you can do is hit JAWS + page down, and that will give you the bottom line of your window which can be set to contain your page information.

You might consider getting:
"format your word documents with JAWS and NVDA" by  David Kingsbury, from  nbp.org.  This is a $18 book.  I have downloaded it in word format.  If you hit your read all command, you could get through the book in 2.5 hours.  

I have just started reading it.

How do I get JAWS to say page 1, page 2, etc. in Microsoft Word files? It used to, but doesn't anymore for some reason. Even when I press page down, it doesn't say what page I'm on.
