Kendra,

You and I have had vent fests about this issue, and that's what prompted me to get on this list to ask these questions.

Since we both have these concerns, I again ask what we can do about it. What would a time management tool kit look like for a blind/visually impaired college student? It is true that for many in the blind community, their smart phone has become the best tool for planning out their day, week or month. I'm thankful for the calendar apps on my iPhone.

So, let's ask ourselves. What are the specific concerns you face as blind college students? Can this material be put together into a package that can be placed on the Student Division web site? Can we do a blog post, podcast, or article about this topic. If there is the need for a program or module like this, I'd like it to be made available in forms like this. I'm not sure if the student division is still doing conference calls. If they are, and they're archived, that can help. However, if not, could a podcast, blog post or article address these issues?

Also, Kendra, I think you've hit on another concern I've seen: lack of tech training. In an ideal world, I'd love to see a tech training center in every state, but that's not bound to happen. I believe that what you're looking for, if I've heard you right is for someone to give you step-by-step detailed tutorials on how to use various pieces of tech, much like what we see on the Apple Vis site. You also want to see these trainers give specific nonvisual directions so you can follow the steps in the sequence.

But back to time management and the issue of college burnout. Can we put something together to address this issue?

Thanks.
