> The MABVI Adjustment Counselor (AC) is an exciting opportunity for a Master's Level Social Worker or an individual with a Master's Degree in a related field to contribute in a powerful, passionate way within a well established and creative environment. The Adjustment Counselor will conduct phone meetings with referred participants to provide individual, couples, or family counselling support services with those who are seeking support as they adjust to the onset of visual disability.

> You will be assisting program participants to determine and achieve goals to increase self-actualization, independence,  and adjustment to visual disability.

> The person selected for this role will help to create a safe and comfortable environment in which to discuss adjustment to visual disability including clinically appropriate disclosure of lived experience around blindness adjustment.

> You will assess participant progress in achieving identified goals and assess efficacy of interventions and strategies on an ongoing basis.

> The AC will help to develop strategies of effective communication when engaging with consumers and managing challenging dynamics.

> You will provide participants with internal and external resources as needed,

> The Adjustment Counselor will collaborate with inter and intra agency team members to ensure optimal coordination of care; provide guidance to other team members regarding best practices in working with visually impaired participants.

> The AC will be an important member of the interdisciplinary team that meets weekly with our clinical team for case review and ongoing refinement of clinical interventions.

> The selected candidate will also be responsible for the following:

> Documentation of participant progress, providing ongoing feedback and gathering data around program efficacy to inform and recommend changes as indicated.

> Educational Qualifications:
>  
> Master's degree in social work or related field required.
>  
> Experience:
>  
> Managing caseloads and treatment plans.
> Documentation of case notes and timely follow-up on notes and communication with clients and colleagues.
> Peer support model of behavioral health strongly preferred.
> Lived experience with visual disability required.
> Experience working with blind or low vision individuals preferred.
> Ability/willingness to obtain Massachusetts license preferred.

> Work Environment:
>  
> Resource coordination will be done remotely.
> Services will be provided using telehealth: Quiet and reliable remote working environment with stable internet connectivity for telehealth meetings.
