Hi all,
I hope this email finds each of you safe and well.
I just received an email from Google implying (though obviously not directly stating) that I could loose access to my Gmail account using the KeyMail app with my BrailleNote Touch starting May 30. Their reasoning for this is so they can "make my Google account more secure." Has anyone else using a BrailleNote Touch received an email like this from Google? I would honestly be devastated at loosing access to my Gmail account, because I mostly rely on KeyMail for all my daily email activity (in fact it's what I'm using to type this email right now). I like KeyMail because of its very simple interface, making it far easier to do things such as move each of my emails to locations which are more convenient for me. I'm not really a big fan of the Gmail app/website because their interface is more complicated. Loosing access to my Google account would mean not only loosing my personal email address (which I'm using currently), but also my graduaffe school email, which is linked to my personal Gmail account.
I'd greatly appreciate any and all suggestions you can offer for getting this issue resolved. It really boggles my mind how all the big tech companies claim to be improving the security and accessibility for all, but are in fact making things worse on the blind and visually impaired, who rely heavily on the accessibility of these technologies. If someone could share any contact information for Google to suggest they put a stop to this, I'd really appreciate this as well.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable end of the week/weekend. For those who are on spring break next week, please enjoy celebrating.
Thanks,
Sami
