[NABS-L] [nabs-l] issue with MS word and VoiceOver

Hi everyone,

I encountered a problem using MS word with VoiceOver on Mac yesterday.
When I use the down arrow to navigate by line, VoiceOver speech does
not read line by line. Each time I press the down arrow, VoiceOver
begins reading from the start of the document. The Braille Display
does show that the cursor is moving line by line down the document.
However, on the Braille display, a new line appears as simply a space
between words. Put another way, VoiceOver speech only reads the entire
document each time I press the down arrow. THe Braille display makes
it appear as if I am reading one continuous paragraph with no line
breaks.

I can however navigate line by line if I am within a table in word or
using any other application.

Has anyone encountered this before? This started seemingly happening
randomly yesterday and I can't figure out if I accidentally changed
some setting. I thought it might be that the VoiceOver and keyboard
cursors are not synchronized, but this box is checked in settings.

Thanks for your help,
Danielle
