[NABS-L] BRITE Act

Hi Gary & All,

Regarding the Blind Students Rights to Independence Training and Education (BRITE) Act, I have attached to this message a copy of the model State bill that the National Federation of the Blind has prepared to help States get it passed. To my knowledge, the only State that has passed the BRITE Act is Missouri, but it wasn't as a stand alone bill. It is Section 167.225 of SB681 signed by the Missouri Governor on June 30, 2022. I have attached what I believe to be the final bill text of SB681 which is a large PDF file.

My memory is that NABS came up with the BRITE Act and asked that the states get it passed in our legislatures. Can anyone tell me where that text is and when NABS came out with it?
