Hi Cricket,
Thank you for posting this internship offer on here. Unfortunately, the guy indicates that we should "View the attached document" to get more info, but I'm not seeing any attachments in this email.
However, he did say this internship is with the federal government, which would actually fit with my current endeavors. I'm currently a graduate student pursuing my master's in translation and interpreting from NYU, and there are actually a lot of interpreters working in federal governments all around the world. Unfortunately, it's not clear to me at this point what kinds of jobs are provided to interns just from this description alone. Are you able to reach out to this guy and ask if they're going to be training language translators/interpreters? If so, then I might definitely consider applying for this internship. It sounds very interesting.
Feel free to let me know what he tells you once you've reached out to him, either on this list or responding to me privately.
Thanks for your attention and understanding.
All the best,

Note the application deadline coming up quickly on October 13. This application happens only once a year. Any interested students or graduates should apply as early as possible as the Federal Government process in general is thorough and takes some time and effort to complete. However, the effort is worth it. Many apply for these, and I would encourage applicants to do a professional job on their application.

Many of these have led to permanent outstanding jobs with excellent pay and benefits. Most allow opportunities for promotion within the agency that hired them as well as with other Federal agencies throughout the country. Another critically important piece of these internships is that if the agency providing the internship would like to hire the student or graduate after the internship is completed, the employer can do so through a “Schedule A” hiring process without going through the regular competitive process usually required for these jobs. As many of you know, these jobs are very competitive in general. Therefore, the ability to obtain an internship because the employer is intentionally seeking people with disabilities out and to then be able to hire the intern through the Schedule A non-competitive process is an unusual opportunity that should not be ignored.
