[NABS-L] Question about writing essays

Hello Osmond,
Kendra's advice is excellent. I was going to suggest a writing course
which may be more helpful in the long term. I teach Braille Music but
litracy comes up some times.

I use MS Word's F7 but it can only help so much. For instance, there
and their are spelled correctly but they are context dependant and
Word's software doesn't always ge this right which is where a decent
dictionary can come in handy. Ask your professor to tell you which
kinds of errors appear the most in your work. Is it extra spaces
between words? That's one of my problems but Word spots this. Is it
punctuation, layout, or case sensitive words getting mixed up. If you
know which issues you have, you'll be better placed to decide which
type of writing course you need. I have a Language Master which is a
stand alone machine. My favourite function is the confusables button.
You type in a word and it lists other words which sound the same with
different spellings and a brief definition of each.

HTH,
very best wishes,
Sandra.
