Hello all,
I know that BlackBoard is accessible with JAWS and shouldn't require scripting, but I was just curious if some was something that did need scripting to make it more efficient does the college have to pay for scripting as a part of reasonable accommodations or would I have to pay out of pocket for that? How well does BlackBoard work with NVDA ′I always have both JAWS and NVDA installed as a backup if JAWS crashes or if JAWS doesn't work well for a particular task′?

Beginning last spring, JAWS would treat some boxes that required text to be entered as if they weren't there. At first, I thought it was because I was running JAWS 2020; so, I got 2024 and encountered the same issue. I still had 2020 on my laptop at the time but 2024 was the one that was being loaded when the computer booted up. I took 2020 off my system and am now just running 2024.

I contacted Freedom Scientific with the issue I was having with 2020 and 2024 and they gave me some long tech explanation about changing this setting and that setting and reinstalling if this didn't work. It didn't make sense because to do any of this because when I installed 2024, I didn't customize anything. Has anyone encountered the issue that I did?

Would you be interested in jumping on a zoom? Being able to share screen will help me better understand what’s going on, and why you’re having trouble.
