[NABS-L] Accessibility of Moodle

Hi all,
My current university uses Moodle. For context, I’m an IOS user so I use
voiceover on iPhone and Mac.
I don’t have very many accessibility issues with the platform. The only
downside for me is the discussion boards, but this is also something I find
to be an issue with canvas so it’s not exclusive to Moodle.
Otherwise, all the Files, external links, assignment uploads, are fairly
straightforward. I struggled with Moodle my freshman year, but it was only
because I lacked foundational tech skills. Moodle itself isn’t
inaccessible, but if your professor uploads PowerPoint slides or scanned
PDFs and they aren’t reading properly, that’s where the inaccessibility
could come in. There are great conversion resources like Sensus Access
where you can upload inaccessible files and make them more readable for
free. That’s separate from Moodle, but it’s helpful if you encounter
inaccessible files on there.
Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions about Moodle. I
hope this helps ^_^
