This month, we’ll be raising awareness around the lived experiences of people who are multiply disabled.
We’re honored to welcome four wonderful panelists who will share their stories, challenges, triumphs, and insights. Whether you yourself are multiply disabled or you simply want to be a more informed and inclusive ally, this call will offer valuable perspective and connection.
We’ll hear four unique voices, each reflecting how multiple disabilities shape the way they move through the world but also affirming that yes, we can live the life we want, even when living with more than one disability. The Science and Engineering Division of the National Federation of the Blind (SEDNFB) will have its annual meeting during the NFB's summer convention<https://www.nfb.org/convention> which will take place from July 8 through 13 in New Orleans. Our division meeting will take place from 6:30 PM to 10 PM on Thursday July 10, 2025.

Forgive the cross posting, trying to give as many people as possible a 
shot at this. There’s a competition to write a piece of music to be part 
of a movie. Most of it is set in Hawaii and there’s a blind female lead. 
You can pick between two scenes. To enter, make a recording of your 
piece and send it through the website, the winning piece is used as part 
of the film score. On the website, where it says classical guitar, think 
acoustic guitar; Ed Sheeran or similar. Text from the flyer appears 
below. I’m on the judging panel.

Speaking of NABS...our next Town Hall will take place next Sunday, May 4th, at 9:00 PM EST. Come join us in our usual zoom room to here about what you can look forward to in the coming weeks and how to get involved during your newly found free time! Here is a link to a google form where you can submit any questions you may have; they can  be about NABS itself or anything blind student  related. The form is anonymous with the option of including your name and contact information. This  can be a great way to get multiple perspectives  on a problem or help brainstorm ideas for self-advocacy. Feel free to submit as many questions as you would like!
