hi there everyone,
I am wondering if there is anyone here who can speak to the screen reader accessibility of math placement testing through either the Accuplacer or the ALEKS PPL test.
I am currently in community college, but I am going back to school later in life as an adult, so my SAT scores are well out of date as are the grades I got in high school. But in order to take my required math courses for my degree, I am required to undergo placement testing to see what my math level is since I can’t use my old scores anymore, And I am really struggling to find information on screen reader accessibility of these kinds of tests. Placement testing is definitely required for me, there are no workarounds in this situation, so I will have to take at least one of these tests.
If any of you have taken either of these tests with a screen reader in recent years, I would be extremely grateful for anything you can share about the accessibility. I am specifically focused on the math portions, because I already completed my degree requirements for the other subjects when I was previously in college so I do not need placement testing for other subjects besides math.
Additionally, if any of you have taken the math portions of these tests with a braille display, that would also be extremely helpful to hear your experiences on,as I really cannot imagine taking any sort of math class or test using audio alone and would really like to push for the right to use a braille display on the test if I can.
Thanks,
Ellana
