Hello Bhavya,
In the context of my Design Thinking class this semester, I am asking my
graphic design students to focus on Civic Engagement and Design for Good.
They will design a solution to a set of user-needs specific to the BLV
community.
For them to come up with relevant appropriate solutions, and to grow from
this experience, they need to be able to interview true members of the BLV
community.
I am looking for volunteers who are willing to spend a bit of time with my
students for them to understand, empathize and design meaningful solutions.
The minimum time commitment is a 60-90 minute interview in person in
February or March, and attending final presentations on May 5 & 7. Anything
in addition to that is at the discretion of the volunteers.
The primary compensation for participating is to raise awareness about the
BLV community. The second is to participate in real design research and
contribute thoughtful solutions to the field. The third is to participate
in qualitative user research to make a positive impact.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Warm regards,
Prof. Elabidi.
