[nagdu] Help us Plan for Convention!

Cari,
There are many ways to make convention affordable. One is to apply for
support from the Jernigan Fund. This fund is to help first-time
conventioneers with convention expenses. Get in touch with Scot Labarre or
call the national office at 410-659-9314 for more information. Another way
is to find a room mate. Rooms are about $70/night with tax. Having a room
mate halves that expense. There are many people open to rooming with someone
and many of the members of this list will be looking for one. If you are a
student, you may want to apply for a scholarship. Scholarships range from
cash awards of $3000 to $12,000 plus all convention expenses.
As for the schedule, the seminars are held during the first three days
of convention - this year I believe that will be Friday through Sunday - and
the general sessions will be Monday through Thursday, July 6 - 9. The March
for Independence will be on Monday and immediately following the March is
opening session. This is an awesome event, in and of itself. The room is
packed and the excitement is thick! opening session is always incredibly
entertaining!
I hope you can make it to convention! My wife calls it "a shot of
NFB-12"! It is very energizing - an experience you will want to repeat every
year once you experience your first!

Fraternally,
Marion
