Dear Jenine,
I've attached the document that was prepared by Michael Osborn and Guide
Dogs for the Blind for the 2004 IGDF conference. The international
requirements for transporting dog guides to another country are listed in
this document. These requirements were taken directly from the USDA web site
in 2004 and some of them are out of date now. You can visit the USDA's site
to see the different countries requirements but these may not be up to date
either. Dog guide users should contact their state's APHIS Accredited
Veterinarian or the country they plan to visit to be sure they have the most
recent requirements.
Also, The Seeing Eye's web site has a section on traveling by air with your
dog guide which includes information on international travel. There is a
link to help you find an APHIS Accredited Veterinarian in your state as well
as a link to the USDA's page for international requirements. There is also a
link to a document on tricks and tips for air travel that may be of use.
