[nagdu] Elmo is Retiring

Margo,

Although this area of the country doesn't usually have really hot days in
late April and early May. I do remember a few years back having 90 degree
weather for a few days in April. Take clothes for rainy days and for a range
of temperatures. It probably won't get below 50 degrees during the day. But
after having a few days of 70-degree weather, 50 degrees can feel quite
chilly.

Retiring a dog produces a lot of mixed feelings. I retired my dogs before
they actually were too sick or too arthritic to work. While it was difficult
to make that decision, I felt I owed them time to have a retirement while
they still could enjoy it. All but one of my retired dogs went to live with
friends of the family, and they all enjoyed their retirement.

It's been almost 21 years since I retired my first dog, Mora. Yet I stilll
talk about her frequently as I do about my other retired dogs. Each of them
brought something special to my life. When I went in September to get my
eighth dog, Hazel, I was excited to find out what unique joy she would bring
to my life. I've not been disappointed.

I wish you much joy with your new dog.

Toni

what's the weather like then, like, do the temps go above 70 degrees?
should I take a variety of clothing for various climates. I recall being in

the May June class in 1981 and we started out kind of cool and rainy for a
few days and then it got really hot.
