Thanks for that information, Jenine. That did indeed flush out my point, and
it was interesting.

I agree-I was verly pleased to read about the NAGDU board meeting.

I won't be in Detroit--I'll be studying for the Bar. But since the Seeing
Eye reunion is conveniently scheduled for several weeks after the Bar, I
plan to be there! Hope to meet some of you at that event.

Angie

Angie,

The Acb ratio is usually around 2000 people attending convention with
anywhere from 300 to 400 guide dog teams. Much of this depends on the venue
as well. I expect that in 2010 in Phoenix, a number of people will choose to
leave their dogs at home due to the climate. Generally, though people are
asked to note their mobility tool n the registration, only around 150 to 200
guide dog handlers do so. The actual count tends to be much higher.

Hope those stats helped flesh out your point, or were just interesting.
<grin>

Conventions by their nature are going to attract only a certain percentage
of membership from either organization. I applaud NAGDU for publicizing its
board meetings and making them open to the public. I think that goes a long
way toward making members feel a part of the organization.

It looks as if I will be joining you all in Detroit this summer and look
forward to it. I had a great time last year and now that I know more of you
from the list, it will be fun to match voices with email.
