Hi Bob,
Wow! That's a long time between dogs.  I did go 8 years between dogs - 
mainly because I was doing things where I didn't need a dog and I also 
worked in a kitchen and had no place to put the dog during work hours.
I grew up in New England so I know what it is like (smile!).  I've lived 
here in California for the last 20 years - still shorter than my New England 
years!  Where in New England are you?  I lived in Connecticut, 
Massachusetts, and Vermont.  I still have lots of family and friends there.
