Good luck with your new dogs.  I have five dogs in my house this  
weekend as my retired guide, Gracy (who normally lives with my best  
friend across town) is here for a visit.  We have a huge house and it  
is still crowded.  Gracy is also a border collie and it interests me  
that you're going to be working with a BC mix for guide dog training.   
Oy good luck, they're very smart but I felt like I needed a therapist  
with a big couch to untangle my mind after I was working with her.   
Maybe it's because I was used to working with retrievers who do  
whatever you want whenever you want.  A BC, or any real intense herder  
has a "doggie executive committee."  If  you ask a BC to do a task  
they need to put the request to the executive committee and they'll  
get back to you "in writing within thirty days."

I loved working with Gracy but I couldn't subject myself to such  
intense mental gymnastics this time around so got a Doberman who  
thinks that anything I want to do is just the best idea ever.  She's  
like a golden retriever that doesn't leave fur everywhere.
