[nagdu] Dogs and dreams

Greetings. I was wondering about something earlier and thought I'd
throw it out to all of you. Can our dogs sense when we have bad dreams
and offer comfort to us afterward? I know that certainly if we wake
from a bad dream or one that's disturbing, it can offer comfort to us
to sit on the floor and pet the dog. However, I was wondering if the
dog can somehow sense that we're bothered by the dream, either when
we're asleep or after we wake, and offer comfort? Anyone have any
experience with this? I'd be interested in those experiences. This
came to my mind when I woke from a nap today from a disturbing dream
and then started petting Gucci, my German Shepherd guide.
