I do think that Glaze knows I'm blind. I don't know if she understands this in the human sense, but I'm pretty sure she knows that she has to touch me or make a sound to get my attention. But she does not move out of the way for me. (grin) She did
move out of the way for my officemate at the job I had before law school. This woman was blind, and she stepped on Glazie a time or two. After that, whenever Glaze saw her coming, she rushed to hide under my desk. When my officemate was
sitting down, she would sometimes come back out. She liked my officemate, but she made herself scarce whenever this woman was on her feet.
I had another cane-using friend, and when we walked together, Glaze did not like to get too far away from her. She didn't want us to be too far in front of this person.
Twice, Glaze has picked up things to chew on (once, a bone, and once, a neighbor dog's rawhide) from outside. She never chewed these things right away. She would wait until I was preoccupied to start chewing them.
I don't yet have any really good Yani stories that demonstrate whether or not she knows I'm blind.
