the last time i flew to visit for 7+ days with dog I ordered dog food via online pet food supply and had it delivered to my friends address where i was visiting.
this way i didnt have to handle carrying it around to airport and then having to figure out where to stash/ if i had to pay for all that food on the flight.
YOu may want to try ordering dogfood online and having it shipped ahead of you to your hotel or friends house.  
I would aslo  contact the conceirge /front desk so they hang onto it for you, till you get there.
