[nagdu] Dogs and Water

AnnaLisa,

Aha! I will look for those. I bought the Ruffwear equivalent on the theory
that it was an "investment" that would last for years... Then I replaced
that one after I lost it, then replaced that one after I lost it at the end
of last summer. Now that it's time to think about spring outings, I need to
get something a bit more budget-friendly to replace. /smile/

Also a Britta for the dogs. We just had a big scare with roomie's hound,
who has far as we know not been in a position to get anything that would
make her so sick... We're waiting to hear back on the lab results, although
said hound is back to being her playful, demanding, loud self. /smile/
Mitzi has showed no signs of having the same problems, thank heavens. But
if there is something in their common environment, it can't help her any. So
it's a good time to discuss purified water for the kids. /lol/ The two
stepsisters have gotten over the worst of their insistence on having
everything equal in quantity and quality, but we humans haven't. Dog food,
supplements, treats, eating schedules and amounts, even toys and chews --
all subject to discussion and negotiation. We're each as attached to and
protective of the other's dog as we are to our own, so we probably are a
little reidiculous by now. /smile/ Still it keeps us amused, and everyone
is happy, so...

Anyway, I will look for those thingies next time we're at Petco. I like the
paper towel idea, too. Mildew! Yuck!

I also use the disposable thick plastic bowls that you can get at Petco. I
don't remember what they're called, but you can buy a 3 pack of them for
about 5 bucks. I really like them a lot because they are small enough when
folded up that you can stash one just about anywhere, yet they are big
enough when opened to hold a good quantity of water or a serving of food.
They are also quite sturdy and don't tear easily or lose their shape. And
if you lose one or if it starts leaking, they are easily replaceable. They
wash up real nice too. I reuse them all the time. I dry it out real good
with a paper towel after giving Sunny a drink, then I also keep a dry piece
of paper towel in it when it's folded up in my purse, which I've found
keeps the mildew away very well.
