first of all, when I go to someone's home, I bring with me my manners and 
more importantly, I follow the rules established in that home.  I would pick

up anyway, but, since the rule in your household is for folks to pick up and

I believe you have every right to discuss with a guide dog user the behavior

you expect while he or she is on your premises with his or her guide dog. 
If the person does not like the rules in your home, the person does not need

to be there.

I wonder how Miss Manners would re-word this.
