Hi,
Our church council is elected by the congregation. The nominating comittee 
asked me if I wanted to be secretary and I said yes. They originally wanted 
me to run for Deacon but they needed someone for secretary, so I did that. 
They actually wanted to have Jacob with them (grin!). He dreamed and slept 
through many a Church Council meeting - and lots of other meetings I went to 
during his working career! Now he lives a life of being spoiled rotton - 
sleeping in bed with his human - and playing with his dog buddy.  Jacob will 
be 11 this November.
