Linda,
I'd agree that there is hardship in being an untrained pet. Although
pets can also benifit from being trained and knowing their place in
the hiracky. I think the best of pet guardians probably do that,
although there are ones who don't and some pet dogs end up confused,
not knowing where they stand. This is why I think that if you are
going to be against guide dogs you should automatically be against
keeping animals as pets period. I think the arguement that you put
forward is much better then the one based on people 'needing' dogs or
making blindness into a tragedy to make PETA seem bad. (I'm not for
PETA by the way but I am for animal rights).
