[nagdu] Here's your dog!

Nicole,

Now, there's a plan! That would work well, too, because Mitzi does leash
guide. Nixt trip I will definitely have a nonmetallic means of staying with
my dog!

I have one, but not sure that you would call it *standard.* First, it is
impossible to not set off the metal detector unless you remove both the
harness and leash, at least with the ones that GDB currently issues. For
this purpose, I have purchased a leash that looks a little like a rope, but
has no metal. It has a loop at either end, one that I fashion into a type of

slip collar and the other that I put around my hand. For the short time that

the harness and working leash are off, this should be enough to keep your
dog with you, being that you have to depend on another, which I do not mind.

I usually have someone help me to the gate anyways. If you do decide to try
this, I would recommend trying whatever leash that you buy with your dog
somewhere else first just to see how they respond to it.

I do not know. Before I ever fly again, I will find out! And I will
certainly have a strategy in place for going through security. Yikes!

Oh My God. Is that normal procedure for airport security to do cavity
checks on guide dogs??
