Ron,
There was nothing personal meant by this comment. I am of the opinion
that many guide dog schools do not treat their adult graduates as
responsible individuals able to make their own decisions. I am also of the
opinion that, if you want to know a schools attitude toward blind people and
their capabilities, look at their ownership policy. Nearly every school
asserts that their dogs give blind people dignity. At the same time, they
treat us as unable to responsibly care for a dog. How in the world do they
expect the public to think we can care for our children when they won't even
allow us to own and care for our dogs?
