Ask Anne Edie who sometimes posts to the list. She's had one for several 
years. Maybe she'll see this question and answer it for you.

I know of three guide horse users and they all own their miniature horse and 
have them trained by private trainers.  They all say that a guide horse 
isn't for everyone - there are definate pros and cons to working with a 
horse.  Me, I have no problem with whether a person chooses a horse or a 
dog.  They just need to know if either one is right for them.  I like horses 
but I prefer to use a dog.
