[nagdu] New Job --Dog Biscuits At Work?

My vet actually recommended carrots for a treat because one of my dogs
seemed to need one, though she may have been a lying lab, LOL, and they are
a good snack with few calories.

Laura,

I would goby how your dog is doing. If he is acting a little hungry or
spitting up that yellow stuff, then, he definitely needs a little something.
If you are worried about weight gain you can always lighten one of the feeds
just a little. All of my dogs have received milk bones and they have all
stayed within their proper weight. Now, if only someone had measured my food
out that way, I could have stayed in the correct weight range. I probably
wouldn't have liked that though. I have also known of people giving their
dog a couple of those little carrot to give them a little something extra.

I recently started a new job, and my schedule is such that I feed my dog
between 4-4:30 a.m. and then again at about 5:30 p.m. He is a six-year-old
Lab in good health and at a good weight. He eats two cups of food per day
at a total of about 900 kcals. He gets moderate exercise, although it has
been somewhat reduced, due to the job. I have had assistance dogs for many
years and have never considered a "snack" of any kind during the day
necessary, but wonder if it may now be. I know that getting up so early
causes me to be hungry earlier in the day than I typically would be. Your
thoughts, please.
