Regarding purses/bags though, I'm probably way too qualified to tell you
about some of them. Hmmm, I choose to call it qualified anyway. My husband
and credit card call it something else. 

Anyway, I've found some very professional looking leather fanny packs that
are large enough for a wallet and some smaller things. Some come quite large
but then are unwieldy. The one I love can also function as an
over-the-shoulder purse and still look OK. It doesn't go over your head, but
when a fanny pack around your waist just doesn't look right, it's light
enough to carry on the right shoulder. 

I rest the fanny pack on my right hip so I can easily reach inside with my
right hand. 

I've also used leather and nylon messenger bags, the ones that are designed
to go over your head and across your chest, but these are usually designed
for the left side and right shoulder and often don't lay well on a woman.
