Albert, I'm with you.
I think a trainer is necessary to work in this situation so that the
signals either you or he may be communicating can be interpreted.

Like for instance, If you're coming out of the house stressed,
frustrated and afraid, that will be felt by the dog. This will cause
him to do the same.

How is your mobility without the dog? Can you use a brush-up--I know I
always can. Mine isn't that wonderful--I'll tell anyone. Can you tell
he is taking you out into the street before you get in the middle? Is
something on your mind while you're traveling?

I'm not trying to be mean or rude. But I think that all things should
be considered. And I totally agree that a trainer should come out to
personally assess the situation.

In the end, sometimes different dogs are better with different people.
We never can tell. Don't beat up on yourself, whatever happens. Take
care!
