[nagdu] walk by petting was ranting

Hi All,
What I find that works best with the "drive by petting" is to have my dog
not look for it. People stare at the dog to get a reaction out of the dog.
They must make a friendly face for the dog to respond in kind. When the dog
starts to act friendly - looking with ears up and tail waging - the person
moves in to pet. They don't give a hooey if the dog wears a sign or not. I
used to use one but it doesn't really work for me. If a sign works - go for
it!

People seem to really go for the Golden retrievers and yellow Labs more than
for the dark dogs like black Labs, dark shepherds, etc.

Landon knows how to sneak in his licks - literal ones. He doesn't do that
as much as he did - he's maturing at last as he approaches age 4 in
November.

Linda and Landon
