[nagdu] : harness signs

Good morning everyone,

These signs are damaging to us as they get in the way of direct
interaction between the dog's owner and members of the public. If someone
pats my dog I'd rather speak to them myself in the hopes of educating them
in the proper protocols to observe when meeting a guide dog team rather than
relying on a sign to do it for me. For that reason I do not use them.

I use a sign showing a hand petting a dog with the univvversal no
symbol over it. The sign also reads "Please don't pet working dog".
I have found that it does help. It won't stop everybody though.
There are still plenty of people who only see the dog and nothing else
or they just don't think the no petting applies to them. I am
always amazed by the people who approach me and say "I know I'm not
supposed to pet your dog but..." all while they are petting my dog.
Then I explain it to them and they say "Oh I know, but (insert lame
excuse here). So ridiculous. Anyway, I probably wouldn't bother with
the sign except that it is also a zipper pouch and very handy for
carrying things. The sign does stop some people so it's not totally
worthless IMO.
