Jewel, 
I'd go before you got the dog. The dog would add a layer of stress and
responsibility that you don't probably need or want. 
Kind of like deciding to have a baby before you finnish grad school. You
can do it, but why? 
Also, make sure your job prospects are in line or you can afford to be
out of work while you're at the center. Nine months is a long time from
a management perspective. 
Also, make sure you really want to go to the center. 
Me, I wouldn't do it.

Hi, this makes me curious. I am considering going to Louisiana Center
for the Blind. Should I go before I get a guide dog? What are the
rules at LCB for guide dogs?
