[nagdu] Self-trained guide dogs

Albert,

My understanding is that yes, under the ACAA they can ask for ID as proof of
an animal as a service animal. However ID is not required as a condition of
access under the ACAA. I'm remembering that there are four items that count
as proof: ID, presence of cape/harness/specialized equipment, a letter from
a health care professional or the credible verbal assurances of the handler.
Any one of the four works as evidence that an animal is a service animal. I
should add that this information may not be accurate after the recent
changes.

So they can ask for ID, but if you offer credible verbal assurance that your
dog in harness is a guide, it's all good! *smile*

Julie
