[nagdu] Disabled vet and service dog banned from supermarket

Marion,
I didn't think of this. I wasn't aware of support harnesses. In the article,
and the interview online, the woman said she has six herniated discs
resulting from her accident and she uses the dog to retrieve articles from
lower shelves. What really disturbed me were the comments posted by the
public in the online version of the article, which was posted on the New
Haven Register's online site. For the most part, they were rude and did not
reflect any understanding of the woman's situation or even the possibility
that the store was in the wrong on this. Having lost my sight later in life,
I am still astounded that suddenly I have become a second class citizen and
have to fight for basic rights and constantly educate the public regarding
the ADA and civil rights. Bobbie
