[nagdu] STILL DEFIANT: Disabled vetplanstosueBigYSupermarketover ban (video)

I also love the parents who use me and my dog as an oppertunity to
teach their kid about service dogs! I have had many adults come up to
me and ask me if the dog bites, and I always have to stop myself from
saying something like "You are not the blind one. You can see her
wagging her tail right?" because Brie is pretty much always wagging
her tail.

Rebecca, your right. I usually can't tell where the little kid is
when I hear the little voice, and I always wait for the kid and/or the
parent to approach me. I'm not going to go looking for kids to teach
while I'm out shopping or whatever, but if the oppertunity arises,
then I feel like I need to tell them all about it. I also have talked
to many classrooms of kids about blindness and guide dogs. I love
doing this because of all the crazy questions you get. You know?
They have better questions than the adults. Of course, you do get the
silly ones. I'm digressing, but this is too funny. I was talking to
a classroom last year when a kid asked me if my dog could tell if I
was about to eat something poisonous. I couldn't believe that I had
gotten that question, but thankfully, I was good and just said no
hopefully without giving the kid a really weird look.

Anyway, I feel like they really learn when I come in. Even when I
talked to the older kids, they were very engaged. Of course, they
weren't as dazzled by the blindness talk as the others. They wanted
to hear all the different voices that jaws could do. They were more
interested in the technology, which was cool because so little people
understa!

I know not everyone is called to speak to children, but I really enjoy
it. Of course, I wouldn't want to be a teacher full time, but I love
seeing them really learn something. It's amazing!
