Steve,

The telling of the situation and some comments in the article in general
left me cold. Also pretty grumpy about matters to do with reasonable
accommodation and the amount of sheer crap that has seemed to come my way
recently on the subject. Sigh. So I'm afraid I stopped even trying to
think about this one. In general, though, I agree with you.

What I did *not* get from the article -- which added a whole lot to my
grumpiness quotient -- was whether the teacher was reinstated and how the
school district planned to meet their legal obligations to her in terms of
reasonable accommodation and reinstatement and...

Then there was the blip to the effect that they didn't evaluate her
qualifications as a teacher first (I could look up the wording, but the
steamd from the ears was getting painful). The context on that one and that
way the words were arranged seemed to imply that where the school district
really went wrong was by hiring her in the first place. Without coming out
and saying so and making it sound like the person saying it was saying the
right thing...

Or am I just snarky on the whole subject and that is why I read it that way?
I dunno. Honestly, I am having anger issues over what I see happening to
workers without their having to be blind or involve dogs or nothing like
that. So I could have read some of my own feelings there into how I
perceived the story, too...

I hardly think she won, she may have been awarded this for whatever the
settlement stated, but definitely not a winner.
JMHO,
Steve
