Buddy,

I would say you are pretty accurate with your thought. For the most part,
we tend to only see a very small handful of larger schools serving the
population of persons with mobility impairments, while the others are
seemingly small and more diverse in the types of service dogs that they will
train for individuals running the spectrum from autism service dogs to
seizure alert to well, you name it. This may play a paart in why they
remain so small as the training seems to be very individualized and specific
and done on a case by case basis. At least with the dog guides, and maybe
this is where Marion was going, they are better able to meet the demand of
their target population. To try to back this up a little more, the last I
knew, some of these larger schools had waiting lists that were pushing or
exceeding the 2 year mark.
