[nagdu] hot spots

Hello:

I'm a fairly new guide dog handler so can people explain/describe what a hot
spot is and how do I find it? Bogart has been licking himself rather a lot
by my thinking so I'm wondering what is causing so much licking. I loosened
his harness by one hole in case that was causing some irritation  on his
chest.
