Hello Doug and everyone,

Have you been up to Tuktoyaktuk? I've heard that it really gets cold up
in the NWT.

Julie, you guys know absolutely nothing about what you call cold. Where I
live In Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, we can, and often do, have temperatures in
the daytime of minus 35 degrees Celsius, about minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
Yah, I'm serious. I have a friend who lives in a small northern Manitoba
town who I visited at Xmas and went for a walk at minus 45 degrees (who
bloody cares about Fahrenheit or Celsius when you get that low.)
Thankfully, there was little wind, the wind chill was only minus 55 Celsius.

This is a consideration for me when getting a new dog; I will be going to
Seeing Eye in March for dog number 6 with the idea that, when I return home
in April, the snow may be on it's way out and hopefully, new jersey will not
have one of it's wimpy toy winters where there is little to no snow. This
way, the shock will not be such a stress for the new beastie when I arrive
back home.

Doug:

It's so cold here that dogs don't answer when they're called until spring
and the sound melts.
