[nagdu] a couple questions

I love your attitude insofar as the kissy kissy village idiots are 
concerned.  My retriever was like that; you couldn't distract him during 
work even if you shoved a salisbury steak under his nose.  Now My lab, total 
opposite.

Talking of unwanted interference, my theory is, three strikes and you're 
out.  There are always the sneaks who will pet, oogle, or even pet a working 
dog with no permission.  Even if they probably know better,

Strike 1:  I will ask them politely to stop their unrequested activity and 
explain that I need my dog for my safety.  That whole thing takes about 10 
seconds or less--no yelling, more like a friendly extended hellow and in the 
vast majority of cases, we all continue on our merry paths.

Strike 2: Mr./Mrs./Ms nuissance, depending on time and my mood, will 
probably be addressed in a fairly loud voice and be treated ans spoken to in 
the most patronizing manner I can muster at 5the time.  This may include 
demeaning terms like sonny, boy, creampuff, sweetypie, and very 
occasionally, requests like "blank off and die."

Strike 3:  Extremely rare, like maybe two or three times in a year, use of 
my referee whistle while poing at them with a general request to anyone in 
the area to gain a little support.  Where I live, there is legislation 
specific forbidding interference with a service animal with a possible 
initial fine of $5000.  I will send our legislation, with all it's inherrent 
weaknesses to the list.

Cell phones may be used as a tool, especially if like the IPhone, they have 
built-in photo and movie possibilities; gotta love technology and the 
internet.

I once visited a store where some pest was petting my gyuide while I was 
busy transacting business and demanded, not asked, "and why not?"  The young 
lady behind the counter got it right within half a second, "because it's not 
your dog," was her reply.  Need I say more.
