I think people are missing the point here. I am sure that Julie and Marion
meant no offense
or disrespect in their comments. The point is that just because we are
different, I?E black, native American, disabled etc that does not give
others the right to treat us differently and expect us to go through extra
inconveniences and often humiliations in order to gain the same rights and
privileges that are taken for granted by the average Joe schmo. I for one do
not want to be treated like a criminal or second class citizen because of my
disability,, and the fact that my chosen method of mitigating that
disability is using a guide dog. I think the comparison used here is a
valid one, and was not meant in an offensive or disrespectful way.
I to am an owner trainer and I will never support any laws or legislations
that require that I show special identification in order to get on a plain,
ride a bus, enter a restaurant, or any of the other millions of rights that
make this a free country.
