My husband Bob who is also an owner trainer and I have had 
several access issues and we've managed to deal with them without 
flashing i.d.  I carry a copy of the DOJ's business brief and 
know about the laws both state and federal to advocate for my 
rights.
I think that knowing your rights is very important.

If I wanted an "official I.D." Then I'd go down to Kinkos with a 
picture of me and my dog, and I'd make one up using our business 
name "Pawpower Creations."  Because my home made ID is as valid 
as any program issued one.
I don't do this because the law doesn't require it and I would 
rather spend a little bit of time advocating for myself through 
the already existing laws than to leave the business owner with 
the false idea that it is perfectly acceptable to ask for I.D and 
that all assistance dog handlers will have such a thing..
