It's not just a poodle thing--Ben is rather hand shy, and he's a lab.  He
might have a 2-foot rule instead of a 3-foot, but he doesn't come too
close unless he's on leash.  It's part of his inner cat, I guess.  (Ben is
a secret Seeing Eye experiment, crossing a labrador with a cat.)

BTW, see how easy it is to change a subject line to something relevant to
the message inside?
