Hello Jenine and All,
I love you Jenine, because you get it. As a resident advisor in a residence
hall on my college campus, I cannot stant it when residents come to me with
complaints about other residents. My first question whenever I receive a
complaint is have you addressed the issue with the person you are
complaining about? Residents' responses the majority of the time are no. I
usually tell them to address the issue with the person first, and talk to me
about the issue again if the disruption does not cease. I also have had
people from peta stop me while Sunny and I are out and about on campus and
tell me how cruel I am to make that dog work for me. Peta people have
threatened report me to animal control, have threatened to take Sunny away
from me, have threatened to remove Sunny from her leash, have removed Sunny
from her leash, or have lectured me about animal cruelty. The few times that
they have removed Sunny from her leash, Sunny has stood beside me and looked
up at me without moving a muscle. The few times that the peta person called
her to come with them, she refused to move. I praised her for that one. I
love how dogs know people better than humans do, and if Sunny is directly
telling me that she does not like someone by putting herself between me and
the person whom she does not like I listen to her. If only the peta people
could see Sunny whenever she is out of harness, or if they could see her
when I take her harness and leash off of the door knob where they hang. They
would understand that she loves her job, and that she receives abundances of
exercise, play, and love.
Just my two cents worth,
Kolby
