Hi Jennifer,

I've taken long train trips in the past and usually my dog sleeps a  
lot, or if I know they'd enjoy looking out; I take my dog and a book  
to the observation car where my dog watches out the window and I  
read.  I try and break up the boredom a bit by playing some quiet  
games such as asking my dog to target my fist.  I may also bring a  
chew bone or bully stick for my girl to enjoy.
I also work my dog to the dining car, to the restroom and take her out  
to relieve during long stops where I also let her stretch her legs.
